Most states have laws that explicitly prohibit discrimination on the basis of things like race, religious beliefs, military or disability status, and others—but not Georgia.
Georgia has NO statewide protections whatsoever, including on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. That means Georgians are at heightened risk of being wrongfully fired, evicted or denied service in public places like restaurants, shopping malls, doctors offices, and hotels.
This hurts our economy by making us less attractive to potential employees and investment opportunities. That's why many businesses, large and small, are joining our coalition to pass an LGBTQ-inclusive civil rights law.
